Dearest Persons,

Thought I'd take a few minutes midst all of the studying to give you an update on my life. I feel like I should apologize for the last post but at the same time I still really want you to think and consider what is reality in life and what is really important and where you stand on current issues. So, I don't apologize, but I do allow you to not comment on that post if you don't want to. :)

So life is crazy as of late... it feels like a blur. There's so many thoughts and ideas running through my mind and I yearn for time and a place to just sort them out. This week was a good week. Tuesday I did real social work for a Deaf School that I volunteer at each week... I helped them with some building and funding policies that they didn't quite understand because it was written in legal English terms, and I totally understood, explained the policy and helped the school work out a proposition for the NGO that set up this policy... it felt SO good to finally be doing social work again and to just make a difference on a small scale. That right there... helping people understand and empowering change in their lives is SO what I want to do with the rest of my life!! :)

Today I went to THE most beautiful park I've ever been to in my life... in the middle of Cairo with the skyline peppered with building and minarets and the Citadel and it was just gorgeous!! There were so many fountains and flowers and GRASS!! Oh, and it rocked my world to find out that grass is not native to Egypt and it doesn't just grow but must be planted. Crazy, aye? :)

I fell in love with french fries the other day... only in pita bread with ketchup. This is THE best way I've ever eaten french fries and I'm a little worried because I've been trying to stop eating french fries, and now... oh it's SO good and costs nothing and wow, I just love patatas w ketchup bess!! :) YUM!!! :)

The other day I opened an orange all by myself, not using a knife... only my thumb... and then I preceded to eat the whole thing!! If you know me, you know I don't like oranges, but this orange was SOOO good!! I've also drunk a lot of orange soda since coming to Egypt and it's starting to grow on me... I'm not sure what's happening to me! Oh, AND!! I've started eating chocolate... like chocolate spread and chocolate cake and chocolate in ice cream... really weird, but I think I've been missing out by refusing chocolate all these years... it is starting to grow on me. I need to watch that! :) I still have a really hard time with the cake and the ice cream, but brownies really are good!

Friday we leave for Istanbul, Turkey. I'm getting really excited to travel around the Middle East although I'm not sure about what to expect. It's going to be an experience alright!

I bought myself a pair of blue jeans yesterday as I ripped my pair at Mt. Sinai. Super hot jeans they are and they cost 100 pounds... less than 20 bucks... like 18 dollars. Not bad.
